The Bloom by TV Pool, Khao Yai

The Bloom by TV Pool in Khao Yai is the biggest flower garden in Thailand with an area of 100 rai (16 hectares). Located on the Pak Chong side of Khao Yai National Park, the garden has over 30 species of temperate flowers.

Many of the themed flower displays for photo-taking are made of artificial flowers or a mixed of real and artificial. These includes a Cinderella carriage, a giant Hermes bag, the Sun and a sacred fountain.

With so many flowers in the garden, the place has a light flora scent which is sure to delight flower-lovers. I can’t name most of the flowers we saw, but those I can include the common ones like lilies, roses, hibiscus. The blooming lilies were especially delightful.

The younger ones can play among Superman, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at an outdoor playground. They have free sheep feeding with the grass feed piled next to the sheep pen. I reckon there are around 15-20 sheep but we stayed clear due to the odour.

We love this vegetable garden area, where pumpkins, bitter gourds and melons are grown. They do grow till quite big and heavy. No, hard hats are not required while walking underneath but I did wonder if any one is going to fall at that moment.

We have heard and read many mixed reviews of the place prior to arriving so we did not have high hopes of the place. The place is not big as big as it sounds, as many of the areas have not much to offer.

But still being flower lovers, we spent a pleasant 2 hours admiring the flowers. And I really mean the individual flowers and clusters.

The landscaping of the individual themed garden is average. And in all honesty, the place can be better maintained. Take for example the photo below. It will definitely look better if the ground did not look so bald and patchy with grass.

This may not be the prettiest of gardens which you may have seen, though there are delightful little corners. You may want to give this place a pass if you are pressed for time.

If you decide to go, it is advisable not to take the expensive bundle tickets though with drinks and buggy ride. Unless you have mobility problems, I suggest to walk around the garden instead of taking up the buggy package. The size of The Bloom should still be fine for walking. Just go for the basic admission tickets at 100 baht each.

The Bloom by TV pool also has accommodation and restaurant facilities. We did not check out any of those though.
