31 Fruits You Can Pick in Taiwan Farms

Fruit picking is a popular activity in Taiwan for locals and visitors alike. There is such a wide range of fruits grown that fruit-picking can be done all-year round.

Here we have gathered information on seasonality of the various fruits and the farm(s) for fruit picking (courtesy of information provided by Taiwan Tourism Bureau, Taiwan Leisure Farms Development Association and Council of Agriculture).

Happy picking!!

P.S. Thank you for the comments and queries we have been getting. As my knowledge comes from my few trips to Taiwan, I may not be able to answer your questions as well as I would like to. Please do visit the links that I have compiled as well for more information on the farms.

Important Note:

The information are for reference only, to be used as a guide for itinerary planning. Weather condition may affect fruit season.

Please check the farms’ website or contact them to confirm that the fruits are ready for picking prior to making your way there. We made the ‘mistake’ of heading to Jiangmayuan for fruit-picking without doing so, and we sure don’t want you to repeat that.

There are some smaller farms, which may also offer fruit-picking activities. If you prefer smaller establishments, ask your drivers or minsu owners for tips.

  1. Hi there,

My partner and I are planning for a trip to taiwan in december. Please advise us on how we can visit the fruit farms! Please also provide us the address, if its at taipei or taichung? Thanks!

    Cheers,
    Lisa

    1. Hi Lisa,
To get to the fruit farms, we went via private transport as we had engaged a driver for travel outside Taipei. The fruit farms we visited are in Miaoli and Taichung County. Perhaps you can take a look at the list and let me know which are the farms you would like to visit. I can check the addresses for you.

  2. Hi there!

Appreciate very much for sharing us information about fruit farms. I’m coming to Taiwan this May and will bring my daughter along. I would like to teach her some valuable life lessons. Instead of the growing trend of going to shopping malls only. Hopefully you can suggest nearby farms from Taoyuan where we can visit and experience fruit picking. And how to get there and what to expect.
Thank you so much in advance!

    Cheers,
    Ria

    1. Hi Ria,

We have not visited the farms near Taoyuan before so unable to suggest any nearby farms. The ones we visited are in Miaoli and Taichung County. The easiest way to get to these farms will be by private hire cars or cabs.

You may want to check out this link if you are visiting Taipei: Neihu Countryside Berry Picking Tour with the strawberry season running from December through to May. You can get to the farm via public transport.

  3. Hi! we will be visiting taiwan in early March next year and I am hoping to visit fruit farms in taipei or taichung. Can you suggest which farm has fruits during that month?

    1. Hi, for fruit picking in March, you can try Shinhe Tourist Orchard (for loquats) or Mili Leisure Farm in Taichung, which we understand have fruit-picking activities year-round. If you pass by Miaoli en-route to Taichung, you can visit one of the strawberry farms in Dahu, season runs from December to April. It is recommended to call up the farms in advance to check on availability and if the fruits have ripened for picking.
